The Delaware County Bureau of Elections has posted their unofficial list of candidates running in the primary on May 18th. The last day to register to vote in the May primary (or switch parties to vote in a primary) is May 3rd. You can register to vote online here. You can also apply for a mail-in ballot until May 11th here (although its recommended to apply as early as possible to allow time to receive and return mail-in ballots). The DelCo Board of Elections is meeting next on April 7th.

Of the 39 precinct election offices in Nether Providence (a Judge of Election and two Inspectors of Elections for each precinct), there are only 17 candidates of which only two are Republicans, both incumbents. There will be write-ins for some of these vacancies, I’ll try to find out who before mail-in ballots start going out. These are the people that staff the polls when you come to vote every election, so someone needs to fill these precinct-level positions.

There will also be constitutional amendments on the ballot, I’ve written them up previously here. Anyone can vote for these, including independents and third parties. None of the possible amendments have gotten on the ballot, only the first three that were previously confirmed. It looks like the constitutional amendment to provide a two-year window for survivors of sexual abuse to seek justice also failed to make the ballot.

I have indicated where judges and school officials are cross-filed and which party they belong to (they can run in both Democratic and Republican primaries). I have also indicated which offices you can vote for more than one candidate.
