One Year On

Its been one year since this project started. What has it achieved? Its not clear. I regularly run into people familiar with it and have recently been introduced as the blog guy. So its achieved some level of readership. The Lenape language community posted my last article to their Facebook group, so that was encouraging too.

Looking at the post categories, there are 20 event, 8 history and 5 Lenape articles. Those are the ones I most enjoy writing, but find I have the least time for. There were 45 township posts and 44 school district posts – mostly meeting reports. There seems an imbalance there.

Traffic seems to have mostly plateaued since May. The most viewed articles were the candidate list for the May primary, the WSSD board meeting from Sept. 13th and the primary and general election results. The local election results aren’t really reported anywhere else, so I can understand that.

I would like to figure out a way to cover more of sporting and music events, as they are such an important part of the community here. I’d also like to figure out a way to do videos with lesser known candidates. There’s little available about many local candidates, it’d be nice to have a chance to hear something from them.

What other ideas do you have? What information are you missing and don’t have time to research? What new categories should I add? Let me know.
