One of the first posts for the blog was a post on the many ways to get rid of things around your house that are no longer needed. With spring and 2022’s first disposal events coming up it’s a good time to revisit the theme.
Nether Providence, together with its neighboring municipalities, is holding an electronics recycling and shredding event this Saturday, Feb. 12th from 9 am to 1 pm at Gouley Park (Summit School). You can find the flier here. The flier lists the items that can be recycled and the prices for items that cost money.
If you can’t make that event, another option from the township is the Retrievr service. Retrievr will come to your house and pick up unwanted clothing and electronics. You can find a list of the items they’ll take here. The township’s pickup page can be found here.
The township has also posted a flier for the county’s hazardous household waste events for 2022. The first event is in April in Sharon Hills. Registration is required.
Finally, the DelCo Times recently had a lengthy article about the many ways to donate items in Delaware County. Many local charities will take serviceable items and find a good use for them.
