Events Coming Up

Both the SHHS food truck event at Creekside and the library’s Well Red event last week were the same night, and both were very well attended.

Early signup for the DelCo Turkey Trot at NPE is underway. There are multiple ways to participate this year – the 1 mile little drumstick run, the 5k road race as well as virtual options. And, if you don’t want to run, you can sign up to volunteer. The early signup discount ends on Sept 30th, and you need to sign up by the end of October to be guaranteed a shirt. Nether Providence’s Family Fun Day is coming up on October 15th from noon to 3 pm at SHMS and will have bounce houses, food, a petting zoo and other activities. There will be a signup for volunteers soon. (edit – here’s the signup form )

The township has an electronics recycling/shredding event at Gouley Park on October 29th from 9 am to 1 pm. There’s a flier for the event here with more details. The last DelCo Household Hazardous Waste event of the year is also October 15th. The link on the county’s website seems to have broken. Its possible all appointments have already been taken – appointments are required. More info at this flyer.

On October 10th at 7 pm, the local League of Women Voters is hosting a candidate forum for the PA 5th Congressional District with candidates Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon and David Galluch. The email says the video will be available afterwards on their Youtube channel here. You can register for the event here. The election is coming up on Nov. 8th.
