Election Day 2022

Today, Tuesday November 8th is Election Day if you’ve somehow missed the millions of ads that have been running for the past several months. Polls open at 7 am and will be open until 8 pm today.

The county has a useful collection of voter resources here. The state’s collection of handy tools is here. The township has its list of precincts on this page.

The ballot is a shorter one this year. There are elections for US Senator, Governor and Lieutenant Governor, US Representative – 5th district and State Representative – 161st district. I did a write-up of the election a while back. The DelCo Times has one as well here.

If you’re up early because you can’t sleep (like most poll workers I know), the lunar eclipse is currently underway as I write this at 4:30 am, so you can enjoy that in the meantime. It should be a beautiful, albeit cooler day today for voting.

If you haven’t voted by mail yet, please vote today! There has been a lot of fear and anger around this election. As Yoda said, “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.” History has shown Yoda is not wrong and there is already more than enough suffering. So when you go out to vote today, please take a moment to consider who brings you a sense of kindness, hope and love for one another instead of the shovels of fear and anger the multitude of ads have been heaping upon us.
