Two Big Projects Coming Up

Two Garden City organizations are gearing up for big projects this year. Creekside Swim Club has launched its “Pool Our Resources” campaign. Creekside is in the best financial shape its been in for quite some time and now they’re looking to tackle some of the overdue maintenance to keep everything safe and running smoothly. Projects include underwater lights, electrical lines and structural work.

Meanwhile, the NPE PTO sent out an email this week recruiting a team to work on replacing the old playground,

The vision: An NPE playground that is the jewel of the neighborhood–a fun and safe place for children to play during their recess periods, and a destination for neighborhood families to enjoy when school isn’t in session. This playground must be accessible to children with disabilities, and have equipment that is both safe for very young children and engaging for older children.

The reality: A project like this takes a time investment from multiple sources. We need buy-in from current and future student parents, community members, the WSSD school district, Nether Providence Township, and the NPE PTO. Everyone wishes playground improvements could happen, but finding people who have the passion to MAKE it happen is the challenge.

CAN YOU HELP? Sign up here, and we will schedule a meeting soon!

We are looking for dedicated community members to take an active role in the planning and execution of a refresh of the Nether Providence Elementary School playground. This project will be run as an unaffiliated committee. This committee will have the support of the Nether Providence Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization, and will work in tandem with the WSSD School District, NPE Principal Al Heinle, and Nether Providence Township.
